Through a combination of strong management efforts and thoughtful, conservative fiscal projections, Ventura County ended last fiscal year with savings of $43 million, and placed in reserves. Approximately $15 million of the savings came from savings in expenditures with almost $4 million resulting from the County’s commitment to lean six sigma process improvement.
“I’m very proud of our County leadership and managers,” said Powers. “The lean six sigma savings are a demonstration of the fiscal responsibility that is an organizational imperative at all levels of the County. The program recently highlighted its tenth anniversary with cumulative ongoing savings of more than $33 million.”
