by Brion Hurley

This is a podcast hosted by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). The presenters are Brion Hurley (a board member of the Sustainable Development Division located in Portland, Oregon), and Greg Smith, who is helping set up a nonprofit volunteer organization in Atlanta, Georgia.

The webinar shares some background on a group called Lean Portland, and how it is connected to the local Portland IISE chapter. They also shared some examples of nonprofit volunteering work done in Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Atlanta, including some struggles. They also provide some suggestions for other chapters or volunteer groups to get started working with nonprofits.
