Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Expand Throughout Connecticut With New Process

7 New England states entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to help get over 3 million electric vehicles on the roads by 2025 to reduce pollution and fuel consumption. To establish leadership for this program, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) in the State of Connecticut set up a pilot study by installing Electric Vehicle Charging Stations for employee and public use outside of their headquarters building.

Through the pilot study, they were able to identify bring multiple agencies together to collaborate and come up with ways to streamline the process for those looking to install charging stations at their facility in the future.

The pilot study led to implementation of 25 additional charging stations at other agencies across the state.
