Continuous Improvement and Humanitarianism with Andrew Parris – Gemba Academy Interview

Andrew Parris works for an NGO called Medair, which provides disaster relief and recovery services to people in need all over the world. In this interview, he explains how continuous improvement can be used in a humanitarian context, and how his Process Excellence Accelerator program trained over 400 people in Lean and Six Sigma methods. This program helped individuals learn to improve their own processes, and helped improve medical supply delivery, reduce costs, and help more people recover from natural disasters and ongoing conflicts. He also discusses how NGOs differ from for-profit organizations (like when he worked at Lockheed Martin) when applying process improvement methods.
