City of El Paso’s Lean Six Sigma Program Saves Residents Thousands of Dollars

The City of El Paso is proud to announce the Lean Six Sigma program has saved El Paso taxpayers another $252,000 by reevaluating three El Paso Fire Department programs.

The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt team reviewed personal protective equipment inventory management, 911 communications recruit training time, and firefighter on the job injuries and lost workdays. The team recommendations not only resulted in the $252,000 savings, they also provided a future cost savings of $111,173 and 13,463 hours saved.

To date, the Lean Six Sigma Program training has resulted in a total cost savings and cost avoidance of $1,637,645 and 41,523 hours saved.
